Muscle VS Fat

The below is pretty amazing.

Always wondered what the whole muscle weighs more than fat saying meant and if it was bollocks or not. Seemed like an excuse for not losing weight one week.

It weighs the same but it is takes up less space, is more dense, isn't as lumpy and looks prettier than fat. So that's why the girl in the photo above looks better when she is 6.5kgs heavier. Because her body fat % has gone down.

In reality it is possible to lose 1kg of fat one week and have put on 1kg in muscle and have a scale reading of 0. So the scales are only telling part of the story. Instead of focusing on numbers it should be about how we feel and look and if we are eating the food of the righteous!

  1. That is so interesting! Sorry Kat - I finally got around to revisiting your blog. I'm so proud of you. I love to hear about the reciepes. I don't think most people realise what a delicate balance food and exercise is. Unless maybe it just comes really easy to some people. You're determination gives us all hope. Love you xx

  2. Awesome you are reading Darlene! Much love to you and the boys.

I think I am just understanding that some people do get it naturally or are taught well but a lot of people work hard at it and we just don't see it. I've been thinking a lot about food choices of other people around me and there is an underlying moderation to some peoples eating/drinking that keeps them under control. I however never got that, it is sinking in now. Especially when I understand now just how much work it is to burn off just one plate of indulgence, let alone a lifetime of them.
